So Ubuntu 10.04 was released the other day.  Here's a list I compiled of the best new and improved features.  Some are for end users, some for system administrators.

10:  Bug fixes "across the platform" and increased hardware support
Includes open source Nvidia drivers

9:   User interface improvements
KDE SC 4.4
Latest GNOME
New desktop themes, Ambiance and Radiance including new wallpaper and icons
More consistant notification area
8:   Software Centre 2.0 (app store)
Easily install/remove software using a "new, sleeker interface"
More easily descern Ubuntu apps versus third party apps
7:   Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition (UNE) specific to small screen, SSD based machines.

6:   10 second booting goal (not promised a huge effort has been put in towards this much faster boot)

5:   Built-in cloud support:
Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud (UEC) included with Server Edition and integrates a number of open source projects.
Ubuntu's native cloud service uses the same APIs as Amazons EC2 allowing you to switch vendors whenever you want.

4:  Improved web application called "Landscape" ($149) which lets you create, edit, monitor and delete multiple cloud deployments
3:   Desktop: Built-in music store
The Ubuntu One Music is built into Rhythmbox, the music player that comes with all copies of Ubuntu.
High quality DRM-free music
Automatically sync your purchases with all of your computers
2:   Desktop: Online storage (Ubuntu One - https://one.ubuntu.com/)
Includes 2 gigs of online storage free (50gigs for $10/mo)
Support auto sync of folders on your computer with Ubuntu One
Your files will be accessible from multiple computers (Ubuntu 10.04 and up) using your Ubuntu One account
Instantly publish a file from your desktop to an online "short URL" location for easy public sharing
Allows folder sharing with other users you designate
Access Notes via the Ubuntu One website
Sync bookmarks and contacts

1:   Desktop: social network integration
integrate “social” right into the desktop
'Me Menu' consolidates the process of accessing and updating social networks including Facebook, Digg, Twitter
also integrates chat channels so users can talk with friends or colleagues on Google Talk, MSN, IRC and nearly every network.
